2D Crystallization of Latex Particles in Thin Wetting Films on the Surface of Fluorinated Oil

The aqueous film is stabilized by fluorinated surfactants. The fluid boundaries enhance the capillary forces but the major factor in the assembly is the convection due to drying. The quality of the obtained arrays is higher because of the low friction between the particles and the substrate.
